Welcome to GrinNation Amstaffs, located in Kankakee Illinois! I fell in love with the American Staffordshire Terrier well before we brought home our first "AmStaff" in 2001. Having heard all of the negative publicity surrounding the breed, I started doing my own research. I learned that, at one time, this had been a breed that was cherished in America. It was even depicted on a military emblem, representing the American soldier's spirit during World War I. Demonstrating this breed's affection and sense of humor was Petey, the mascot of the 1930s children's movie series Little Rascals.As a result of responsible breeding programs, Amstaffs can reclaim their place in Americans' hearts. This is a breed which is courageous and loyal,and posesses a great sense of humor. We at GrinNation have made a commitment to positively promote, dispel myths and educate others concerning this remarkable breed.
Our goal at GrinNation is to produce structurally well-balanced dogs with fantastic temperaments. We will exhibit our dogs in a positive manner in AKC confirmation, obedience and agility events and through other organizations that exemplify our mission. We only produce litters on occasion with acute attention to improving the breed. The dogs specifically chosen for the planned breeding are of champion bloodlines and are OFA certified. All of our dogs are family raised in our home and socialized to be positive representatives of the American Staffordshire Terrier in our community.
